To start off with in this project I want to focus more on creature design in concept art. I've started off with digital paintings, and I want to move forward into creating detailed mudbox files of these creatures.
I researched into creature anatomy and how the skeletal and muscle structure of each different animals is built for it to survive (differences between elephants, tigers, humans and birds, for example). But the structure of each is basically the same but differently proportioned in order for the creature to adapt.
I then went to the zoo in order to do some more research and do some more quick drawings, focusing on the anatomy of creatures, whilst focusing on on only spending the maximum of a minute on each drawing.
From this I chose a sketch and practiced some photoshop painting. This really helped me get a feel for the program that I'd never managed to achieve before, and made me more confident in being more loose with my work.
It seems that this research has move me away from my primary target of using mudbox, so first I shall practice with more with what I already know - photoshop.
